Museums are responsible for the universal heritage of humankind.

In its Greek form, mouseion, it meant “seat of the Muses” and designated a philosophical institution or a place of contemplation. The word was later latinized by the Romans into museum.
Their purpose is to collect, preserve, interpret, display.
