Wir wurden einen ganzen Tag (15jun26) durch Mailand geführt und konnten einen guten Überblick über die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten (Montags waren die Museen geschlossen) gewinnen. Frau Barbara Quarello hat uns dabei sehr einfühlsam und detailreich - und bestens organisiert (Kartenreservierungen) - Ihre Stadt präsentiert. Klar waren die Highlights der Stadt im Focus, jedoch die vielen kleinen versteckten Ecken in die wir geführt wurden, haben uns erst den Mehrwert einer professionellen Führung vor Augen geführt. Ohne diesem Detailwissen und Liebe zur eigenen Heimatstadt hätten wir diese Ecken von Mailand nie gesehen; neben den klassischen Hotspots wurden wir in Hinterhöfe, Gartenanlagen, aber auch Cafés, bis hin zu einem Rudel Flamingos geführt. We did a Secret Milan tour with Barbara. There was a strike that day and we had to walk back into city center to meet Barbara. She graciously adjusted the meeting time for us. I don’t think we’ve ever had a guide with such intimate knowledge of their city. We got a glimpse into Barbara’s life growing up in Milan. After showing us surprising and restful sites in Milan we ended our tour at the Basilica. As we left the Basilica people were coming in for a service. The combination of the long history and active worship today was an uplifting experience revealed through Barbara’s intimate knowledge. We highly recommend Barbara’s skills and knowledge. She provided us with a true immersion into the history, art , culture, shopping and food that was all First Class. She also led us on a day trip to Tourin— among her many offerings- that provided us another wonderful and in depth look at another beautiful Italian city. We had an excellent full day tour with Barbara for 4 adults. She really has a passion for Milan and guiding and tailored the experience to our interests. Barbara has a wide range of expertise - history, art, fashion, culture, food etc - and has many contacts throughout the city, which makes her a great guide. Barbara is a wealth of knowledge and was a delight to spend quality time with learning about the Last Supper and all the associated history. She was prompt, informative and professional in all aspects of our 90 minute tour of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie and the Last Supper painting itself, as well as the fresco by Donato Montorfano, depicting the crucifixion. She also explained the surrounding area, which includes Leonardo's garden, and other aspects of the history of the that period. I spent a wonderful, informative, relaxing 4 hours with Barbara in Milan. She explained different architecture, showed me many palaces. We went to the conservatory and learned about Verdi and other composers that spent time in Milan. As a special treat we walked down the most expensive street that houses all the fashion designers. Barbara arranged a wonderful day exploring the history, architecture and (most importantly) the fashion of Milan. Barbara is a wealth of knowledge, and is friendly and easy going. She arranged for us to have a tour of a famous leather designer & manufacturer (at his workshop, with a wonderful tour given by him) of luxury purses, bags and shoes. It was a really interesting tour and we learned a lot of insight into this process of designing and creating these beautiful items. Barbara also has a great sense of style and guided us through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle II and the amazing shops. We learned so much from Barbara about fashion, about the architecture and history of Milan. She has an easy-going style, with a good pace guiding us through the streets of Milan. Barbara is a wealth of knowledge & our group of 4 adults & 4 elementary age kids had a great day exploring Milano with her! Barbara is very easy to communicate with & she made a personalized/customized tour based on our requests & the ages of the children prior to our arrival in Milano. She took away any stress in trying to plan to see the sites & get tickets on our own. She even changed a tour stop mid-day to accommodate the kids, ensuring the kids had fun while learning about her beautiful city. We enjoyed fantastic meals as well.
